STCU Held a Round Table "Sustainability Efforts in IPMS: Evaluation of the STCU Targeted Training Program"

A Round Table on Sustainability

On October 19, 2006 the STCU held the Round Table on Sustainability Efforts at the Institute for Problems of Material Science (IPMS), attended by nearly 30 scientists from the Institute.

The purpose of the event was to evaluate the effectiveness of Targeted Training Program in the STCU’s sustainability efforts. STCU Deputy Executive Director Victor Korsun briefed the Round Table participants on importance of the scientists’ sustainability efforts and explained complicated issues in the technology commercialization process. STCU Project Event and Training Officer Elvira Sharma presented new training materials for scientists. STCU Sustainability Development Officer Inna Tyutenko made a presentation on marketing research.

Participants discussed STCU activities and future cooperation plans. In particular, scientists expressed their need in establishing a Center for marketing research to provide targeted services to scientists from all over Ukraine. Scientists expressed their interest in organizing such Round Tables regularly and provided specific topics for future discussions.
