INNOVATION FORUM March 31, 2009 KYIV, UKRAINE

CRDF and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will host the first Innovation Forum in Kyiv on March 31, 2009. This event will showcase emerging technologies in Ukraine, providing the participating teams with exposure to potential investors and partners. Eleven teams—all semifinalists of the STEP Business Partnership Grant competition—will “pitch” their plans to commercialize to an expert panel of judges. Semifinalists participated in an intense 3 day STEP Technology Entrepreneurship Development Program in early March where U.S. and Ukrainian business professionals provided personalized training and coaching to aspiring entrepreneurs. The best teams will each receive a $24,000 grant after the Forum from CRDF and the Ministry of Education and Science to continue their work on technology commercialization.

    STEP Business Partnership Grants competition conducted by the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) and the Ministry of Education and Science, promotes research and development partnerships between companies and teams of researchers to develop new commercial opportunities of economic benefit to both parties.
