STCU-UNODA Round Table On Weapons Of Mass Destruction and Dual-Use Expertise/Knowledge Redirection And Prevention

The Science and Technology Center in Ukraine in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Disarmament Affairs is organizing a Round-table on WMD and Dual-use Expertise/Knowledge Redirection and Prevention that will take place17-18 April, 2013.
Venue and Date: 17-18 April, 2013, Kyiv, Ukraine, National Technical University of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute”, building 6, Administrative Conference-room, 37 Peremohy Ave.
Main Objectives of Roundtable
The purpose of the event is to learn of experiences in CBRN Experts redirection to non-prohibited activities conducted under the STCU Non-Proliferation and Conversion Program over a period of 17 years in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The event will also offer opportunities to learn of experiences and challenges in the same fields from other countries and regions.
The Roundtable well supported at the national and international level promises to gather officials and Experts with purpose to discuss what effective practices could be of interest for activities of the 1540 Committee to prevent non-State actors from gaining access to nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and their means of delivery.
This event will be attended by High-level national Officials, representatives of the 1540 Committee, international and regional organizations, Diplomatic Missions of STCU parties, and other invited experts.
