Joint Statement from the 39th Meeting of the STCU Governing Board 9 December 2014, Kyiv, Ukraine

The Thirty Ninth (39th) Meeting of the Governing Board of the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) convened on 10 December 2014 in Kyiv, Ukraine, at National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". Officials from the STCU Governing Parties of the European Union, Ukraine, and the United States of America participated in this meeting. Also present were government officials and other representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration, the U.S. Department of State, the Embassy of the Republic of Georgia to Ukraine, and the STCU Secretariat Management.

At this 39th meeting, the Governing Board approved seven (7) new regular, government funded scientific projects for a total of $125,000 and ˆ7,868,627. The Governing Board also confirmed eight (8) new Partner Projects valued at $162,344 and ˆ352,355, and confirmed fourteen (14) Partner Project contract extensions valued at $533,110 and ˆ209,531.

The Governing Board approved eight (8) STCU-Azeri Targeted Initiative projects, totaling $150,000 and ˆ200,320, with matching funds from the Azeri National Academy of Sciences, six (6) STCU-Moldovan Targeted Initiative projects, totaling $75,000 and ˆ60,096, with matching funds from the Moldovan Academy of Sciences, eleven (11) STCU-Georgian Targeted Initiative projects, totaling $157,500 and ˆ182,286, with matching funds from the Shota Rostaveli National Science Foundation, and ten (10) STCU-Ukrainian Targeted Initiative projects, totaling $250,000 + ˆ200,320, with the the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The 2015 Administrative Operating Budget and Supplemental Budgets were approved as presented. Parties also approved a revised STCU Code of Conduct and Financial Regulations to bring them into conformity with auditor recommendations.
