New Sustainability Planning Guide Introduced at Training Session
37/49419 May 2004
On 28- 29 April, the STCU held an internal training session for project coordinators, partnership managers and field information officers. Terence Sellen, a Canadian businessman long associated with the STCU, conducted a seminar focused on market strategy development and sales in the scientific sector. Project coordinators applied the lessons learned to several case studies, selected from actual project proposals. At the conclusion of the two-day session, STCU staff introduced project coordinators to the newly reworked Sustainability Planning Guide for scientists. The April 2004 draft edition comprises three major sections: “Getting Started,” “Sample Planning Tools,” and “Further Resources.” Scientists at all stages of proposal development and execution are encouraged to make use of the guide, available at http://www.stcu.int/documents/general/stcu_full_form_files.zip As the document is still a work in progress, feedback, suggestions or comments are particularly welcome! Scientists with questions about sustainability planning should feel free to contact the STCU Registration Control Officer, their project coordinator or Chris Stuebner.
