STCU Holds Round Table on Commercialization of R&D in Chisinau, Moldova

On 21 October, STCU held a round-table event, “Commercialization of R&D, STCU Programs and Initiatives” in Chisinau, Moldova. Dr. Ion Tiginyanu (Vice-President, Academy of Sciences of Moldova) and Dr. Chenadie Cernei (General Director, Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Academy of Sciences of Moldova) opened the event. STCU DED (US) Vic Korsun and other STCU staff gave presentations on technology transfer, patenting, IPR, and commercialization of science research. Also presented was information on STCU supplemental programs that help participating scientists in protecting and exploiting their research results.
This round-table event kicked-off one of these STCU programs in Moldova: the Chief Technology Commercialization Officers (CTCO) Program. The CTCO Program—a program to improve institute self-sustainability through the training of technology transfer officers—has been in operation in Ukraine, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.
A similar round-table meeting was held on 17 October at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (Chernivtsi, Ukraine). These round-table events have been conducted throughout the STCU Recipient Party countries.
