The Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU), as part of the EU CBRN CoE Project 088: "Strengthening of CBRN Medical Preparedness and Response Capabilities in Southeastern Europe and Eastern European (SEEE) countries," continues its commitment to supporting the sustainable development of emergency medical training capabilities and enhancing preparedness for and response to CBRN accidents and emergencies. In a significant step towards achieving these objectives, STCU has successfully delivered a specialized CBRN emergency ambulance to the Institute for Emergency Medicine of Montenegro. The project is funded by the European Commission's Foreign Policy Instrument, highlighting their commitment to supporting preparedness and response efforts in the region.
This ambulance, procured within the framework of the project, marks a crucial milestone in strengthening Montenegro's disaster and emergency medical response capabilities. The Minister of Health, Dragoslav Šćekić, thanked the EU partners for their help and emphasized the importance of the health system's preparedness for possible crisis situations. Dr. Vuk Niković, the Director of the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance of Montenegro, stated that the state-of-the-art ambulance will be exclusively dedicated to CBRN emergency medical use, bolstering the capacity of the Disaster and Emergency Medical Training Center in Montenegro. By providing this essential CBRN equipment, EU aims to support the enhancement of national and regional training institutions and National Emergency Medical Service providers.
The delivery of the CBRN emergency ambulance to Montenegro underscores EU's commitment to regional cooperation and the transfer of best practices in the field of emergency medicine. This project, in alignment with the long-term objectives of the partner governments, contributes to building sustainable and resilient emergency medical response systems across SEEE countries.
The CBRN emergency ambulance is equipped with cutting-edge medical technologies and specialized equipment designed to handle chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear emergencies. It will serve as a vital asset for responding to CBRN incidents, providing immediate medical support, and ensuring the safety and well-being of affected individuals.
